This ancient site is where ceremonies used to take place. Continue on to visit the beautiful gardens and waterfall of Vaipahi. On the East Coast of the island, stop at Venus Point, the landing place for many European navigators. James Cook named it as such when he observed the transit of Venus during one of his scientific voyages to Tahiti. Finish the day at Tahaaraa lookout point (also known as One Tree Hill) for an outstanding 360 degree view of Tahiti, with the island of Moorea in the background.
